Laura & Neil - Fyvie Castle & Pittodrie House Hotel, Aberdeenshire
We headed back up to Aberdeenshire last weekend, to photograph Laura & Neil’s wedding at two of our favourite North-east venues. Both our bride and groom are architects, and we knew their big day would be full of gorgeous details and a whole lot of style.
A lovely brooding sky greeted us on arrival at Pittodrie House Hotel, where the girls were getting ready.
Laura’s mum made the headpieces and jewellery for the girls – how talented is she?
Laura looked stunning.
Then it was on to Fyvie Castle. This beautiful monogram was designed for the occasion by Laura’s aunt. Neil was also looking gorgeous, as always! We had a lot of fun photographing the bridal party. Although things did get a bit competitive during the pose off. Nice work team! Then it was back to Pittodrie House Hotel for the reception. Laura & Neil put so much time and thought into every detail. They were helped in many ways by their very talented family. Laura’s dad made these placename holders, which, when flipped over, doubled as tealight holders. We are so in love with these badges! Laura’s uncle is a potter specialising in ceramics – he made this fantastic cake stand and tea-light holders for the tables. After dinner we snuck in a mini photo session. As is traditional in Aberdeenshire, the dancing kicked off with a grand march. And then the ceilidh soon got into full swing.
Laura & Neil – Thank you for placing your complete trust in us to capture your special day, from way back, even before we had the opportunity to meet. We have really loved getting to know you both and look forward to showing you the full story of your day.
